The work of Sturges was very important in its time. He was one of the first to organize the information and practices available with a view towards setting up poultry keeping in a systematic way to enhance the profitablity of the poultry enterprise. Though revised to try to meet today's needs, this work is most important as an historical work. Many of the subjects discussed are still relevant, and so is the systematic approach taken and much of the practical advice. A good good but reprinted , with not so good quality print, however it is here and available. The early editions are occasionally available second hand.
