A Galvanised 18kg Poultry Feeder with Cover - used to efficiently to feed broilers, chooks, hens, growing turkeys, ducks, guinea-fowl and pheasants.

• A good quality galvanised feeder with a plastic cover to keep the weather out of the feed.
• Has an internal adjustable feed level, sturdy construction, with deep pan for total feed control.
• Capacity 18 kg.
• Suitable for 30-50 Adult birds per pan.
• For Layer flocks of more than 20 birds - suggest using 2 x 18kg Feeders in the Shed, one at each end. 
• Inward rolled edges on the base act to reduce scratching and feed loss.

**   When choosing a Chicken Feeder for layers it is better to have a round feeder rather than a trough, this stops dominant birds from controlling access to the feed.

***  Ideally Poultry Feeders should hang to prevent the birds sifting the feed and spilling some out, the ideal height is between back and eye height. This also helps to prevent dominant birds from stopping birds lower down the pecking order from accessing the feed.

**** With Chicks, the choice is between round hoppers and troughs - Troughs are good with fine mash feeds but prefer Round hoppers for crumbles.
